Press Release
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
eRSO to have Tri-Council MOU Compliance by April 1st
Calgary, Canada - February 8, 2008 - Process Pathways today announces that its flagship Electronic Research Services Office (eRSO) research management solution will be 100% compliant with The Tri-Council's "Memorandum of Understanding" by April 1st, 2008.
"This is announcement represents significant commitment to our customers," says Gord McDonald, Process Pathways President & CEO. "The Tri-Council MOU clearly lays out how federally-funded organizations must comply. We're committed to our solution being a legitimate choice to helping these institutions reach this challenging goal."
The Tri-Council MOU (MOU) outlines strict accounting and compliance guidelines that Canadian granting agencies and institutions will share in administering the more than $1 billion research investment made annually by the Canadian federal government. The MOU describes the basic requirements for obtaining and maintaining institutional eligibility to administer agency funds.
"This date is incredibly significant for our research customers," says Ramki Doraiswami, one of Process Pathways' chief architects. "They want to know, 'Does your system enable us to comply?' And on April 1, we've committed to being able to say 'Yes.'"
Process Pathways' eRSO system enables higher education institutions to maintain and prove their research compliance regulatory requirements electronically. The system's automated workflow provides a centralized database that allows organizations to track their research activities, i.e., whether it be human and animal ethics or environmental assessment, for example, and track the associated funding activities, including comprehensive accounting and reporting functionality.
"When it comes right down to it, the auditors don't want to interfere with research," says Gord McDonald, Process Pathways President & CEO. "They're there to enforce compliance and ensure that regulations are followed. Wherever the funding is coming from, our system gives auditors the confidence they need to feel sure that nothing is falling through the cracks."
